That's it : I succeeded with the test by doing like a "clean" install,in terms of my startup files which I renamed prior to ./.configure,make, make check :) and make install.Afterwards - in the new zsh version - renamed back these files/etc/zshenv, ..., ~/.zshenv, ...

    I was planning to take a look at the issue as soon as I upgrade
to Zsh 4.2.x, but by now I haven't upgrade (my 4.0.9 works soooo
smooth...) :)

So, I might live like that.
