} That is probably because that is where these modifiers come from. The
} idea is borrowed from tcsh, if I'm not mistaken.
I don't recall exactly where Paul first encountered it, but that feature
(as a history modifier) dates all the way back to the original csh. Zsh
introduced the idea of using it as a glob qualifier.
