No, absolutely. In fact, it is not the problem solely of the
Emacs. The good old (:-) editor, "vi", also causes the same
phenomenon (with zsh 3.0.4 in Linux 2.0, Solaris 2.5, and SunOS
4.1).

IMHO, the problem is inherent in Un*x.
