This is 4.2.0-pre3 with PWS's EXIT-trap fix.  Put the _prefix completer in
your styles.  Start with

schaefer<501> egrefoo

Position the cursor over the "f".

Type TAB twice.

schaefer<501> egrepfoo
              egrepfoo
Completing external command

Cursor and input are now on the second line, below the prompt.
