No, I wasn't very clear. Without the colon, the only time it'll do
something less-than-useful is when TIN_HOMEDIR is equal to "",
in which case it will look for /.tin/newsrctable instead of
~/.tin/newsrctable.
OTOH, if you have TIN_HOMEDIR set to "", maybe you know something that I
don't.
