Completion menu options disappear on zle-reset-prompt

How to reproduce:

1. Run zsh -df to get a clean zsh environment.

2. Type the following into the terminal.

    zstyle ':completion:*' menu yes select
    autoload -Uz compinit && compinit
   
    TRAPALRM() { zle .reset-prompt }
    TMOUT=1
   

3. Type ls<tab> and wait for 1 second.

Expected behavior:

Actual behavior:

If you keep pressing tab, you’ll cycle through all options as usual. However, when TMOUT triggers, all options other than the selected one become invisible.
