It may appear to you that it's clear what point you are trying to
make. I can assure you this is not the case. To *me* it appears as if
your point changes not only from one post to the next but even between
a single post. So I hope you can forgive me for trying to put my
understanding of your point in writing in the hope that we can both
agree on what exactly we are arguing about.

Is your point that the current recommendation in the documentation is
