Re: Modernizing Documentation format?
Before proceeding any further, I think we need to clarify what we
will lose if we move from Yodl to Sphinx.
# I don't mean nothing should be lost.
For example, in the preview, there is only one big Index instead of
multiple indices:
{Concept, Variables, Options, Functions, ...} Index
Is this OK?
Or is there any way to preserve multiple indices with Sphinx?
Another example is the cross reference from one man page to another,
such as 'See FILENAME GENERATION in zshexpn(1)' (in zshmisc(1)).
In the preview, zshmisc(1) just says 'See Filename Generation.'
I guess this may be OK since 'in zshexpn(1)' had been missing for
a long time before the commit 33aafec (July 2025).
Are there any features that will be lost (but we might not
want to lose them)? If nothing, or if it's OK to lose them,
then we can seriously consider switching to Sphinx.
