In the last research unix from bell labs and later in plan9

* the default shell was rc (which seems to be the obvious)
* make was replaced by mk

I played with both of them and it's such an improvement I think it's
heartbreaking to understand that we are stuck to algol syntax because
AT&T failed to distribute those very last evolutions of unix.
