.cvsignore exists also in almost all subdirectories.
I guess .cvsignore is retained in case anyone want to use git and
cvs simultaneously in the same source tree. See workers/31466.
The post is more than 12 years old, and I think removing
.cvsignore would not cause any trouble now, but not 100% sure.
(If we are going to remove .cvsignore, we can also remove the lines
CVS and .#* from .gitignore).
